Aims Community College

Aims Community College offers more than 200 degrees and certificates at its four campuses across Northern Colorado. Aims was looking for a website to showcase its offerings while serving their varied audiences including faculty, staff, and students.

In the early stages of the project I facilitated user research workshops using Journey Mapping, a tool designed to understand challenges faced by users and build empathy among stakeholders. Using the findings from the journey mapping, I led collaborative sketching exercises to develop ideas to be used in the new design.

The new design features an intuitive navigation and consistent wayfinding to direct users to the content they’re looking for. Engaging imagery, elegant typography, and an extensive design system contribute to a website that is modern, accessible, and user-friendly.

The new website has increased page views by 35% and online application submissions have increased by 11%.
